Submission guidelines

Every app on HalaLaunch is reviewed by hand before it launches, including a halal-content check. These are the rules the review follows.

Accepted

Working apps whose main purpose serves Muslims: worship, Quran and Islamic learning, Arabic, family, community, halal finance, halal food and travel, and general tools built for a Muslim audience.

Not accepted

  • Gambling, betting, lotteries.
  • Interest-based (riba) lending or financial products.
  • Alcohol, drugs, pork products.
  • Adult or sexual content; dating apps (marriage-focused matrimonial apps are reviewed case by case).
  • Fortune-telling and astrology.
  • Content that mocks Islam or promotes sectarian hostility.
  • Malware, scams, spam, piracy, weapons, impersonation of other brands.

Sources and judgement

Religious content should cite its sources where relevant. Contested questions (for example, music) are left to the owner’s judgement.

How review works

After you submit, your app is reviewed before its launch week. The reviewer approves it for the week you picked, asks for changes with a note, or declines it with a note. Edits to an approved app are checked again.
