Quran memorization apps: 5 for every part of your hifz
Hifz has three parts that teachers have used for centuries: the new lesson (sabaq), review of what you memorized recently (sabqi), and long-term revision of everything else (manzil). Most people don’t stop because the new lesson is hard. They stop because revision slips. These five apps were launched on HalaLaunch by indie Muslim makers and reviewed by hand before launch, including a halal-content check. Each one helps with a different part of the cycle.
For apps that work without internet, see our guide to offline Quran apps.

Questions
Which app checks my recitation while I memorize?
Hifzan and Ayafy both listen as you recite and mark each word. Ayafy does it for free; in Hifzan it’s part of Pro.
What’s the best free Quran memorization app?
Ayafy is free and covers recitation checks, revision tests and progress tracking. Kitaby (memorization veil), Quran Car (listening loops) and the core of Hafiz (revision tracking) are free too.
How do I keep from forgetting what I memorized?
Revise on a schedule instead of only when you remember to. Hafiz shows which parts you reviewed longest ago; Ayafy shows when you last revised each surah, juz or page; Hifzan opens each day with a review.
Can I memorize while driving?
Quran Car loops ayahs through CarPlay with steering-wheel controls. Hifzan has a hands-free mode with a voice coach that works over Bluetooth and in the car.
Is there a hifz app for Warsh?
Kitaby has the full text of Warsh and seven other riwayat, with tajweed colours for Warsh, and its veil works on any of them.
How we chose
We included Quran apps launched on HalaLaunch that have a feature built for memorization: a plan, a recitation check, a way to test yourself, repetition loops, or revision tracking. We left out apps that only read or play the Quran. Every app on HalaLaunch is reviewed by hand before it launches. Two of the five, Hafiz and Quran Car, are made by HalaLaunch’s founder; they’re listed by the part of hifz they help with, not ranked. Made a hifz app? Launch it free and we’ll consider it for this page.
